How about this charming little Gesneriad—notice how similar the blooms are to a Streptocarpus. This is Primulina petrocosmeoides.
This species was only discovered in 2009 growing 'on outcrops of shaded moist limestone under subtropical evergreen broadleaved shrubs in one big gorge' 900 metres above sea level in Guangxi, China. This species is listed as 'endangered' since there are just 1200 individual plants known to exist in the wild, and they're all in this one location.¹
Primulina petrocosmeoides thrives in a moist, semi-shaded location (avoiding direct sunlight), yet can withstand prolonged dry spells.
We have a *very* small number of this species currently available as plug plants.
I find it has one of those flowers that you just want to paint!
